Where to stay, Morocco travel guide

One of our bucket list travel destinations, Morocco is everything you could have imagined!

Hello from Morocco! Full of wonder and magic, Marrakech and Oualidia are like something out of a movie!

From travel channels to Instagram, I’ve seen Marrakech time and time again and fell in love with it. Once there, my appreciation for Marrakech deepened. The magic of this city is in the details. Every corner is thoughtfully designed, every floor and wall tile is perfectly placed, every corner has a story. The level of detail is amazing. For example, when I arrived at my hotel room, I immediately noticed the beautiful cylindrical centerpiece. what do you think it was? Metal water bottle holder! The metal had intricate leaf-like designs throughout. I’ve never seen anything like it! I liked it so much that I bought two at the souq.

And this level of detail was definitely noticed and appreciated at the hotel we stayed in. La Sultana MarrakechThis hotel is truly picture perfect! There are 28 guest rooms in total, and each room is designed according to a theme so that no two rooms are the same. We stayed in the Puma room and there were nods to cat features everywhere. Being away from our kittens this was much appreciated and needed. We even got a glimpse of the giraffe and zebra room which was breathtaking!

After spending a few days in Marrakech, we headed to Oualidia, Morocco. Oualidia is a seaside town best known for its fresh oysters (known as the oyster capital of Morocco) and its stunning beaches. No need to say much…the word oyster takes me anywhere! Oualidia’s oysters are literally farm-to-table, so crisp and fresh.

In Oualidia, Sultana Oualidia Hotel. With just 12 rooms, this hotel is fit for a queen. Its structure is like a seaside castle! Each room is spacious and beautifully decorated. Within walking distance of the lagoon and minutes from the beach, this hotel is soulful and charming.

Some tips while you are Sultana Oualidia – Schedule a picture-perfect lunch on a secluded beach, try a bird watching safari, or eat Moroccan pancakes/crepes for breakfast.
