Were you nervous about speaking to people?
I was so nervous! Sometimes telling people you’re pregnant makes them feel like they know everything will be okay, but that’s not always the case. But I wanted a good support system around us, so I told my family pretty early on.
What pregnancy symptoms have you experienced?
Malaise: No one talks about fatigue!! I feel completely drained all the time. Once I had to stop in the middle of a grocery store aisle.
nausea: I had nausea, but luckily no nausea. I feel like I have a hangover when I’m pregnant, but I don’t wake up the next morning and feel better. I am happy that I was able to do this.
convulsions: This is one of the things no one told me. The early cramps from 5-8 weeks were very painful!
Wataguchi: No matter how much water or drip you drink, it’s hard to get out of the cotton mouth at night. You said it felt like a hangover!
When did your symptoms worsen?
10-12 weeks were the worst for me!

Should I Take Baby Aspirin Before Birth?
I took baby aspirin when I was trying to conceive, as recommended by my doctor due to previous blood clots caused by birth control pills (specifically, the birth control pill estrogen). When I was able to, he gave me daily injections of Lovenox (a blood thinner). Unfortunately, oral anticoagulants cannot be taken during pregnancy, as some studies have shown that they can harm the fetus.
Did you have any symptoms prior to your positive pregnancy test?
The symptoms are very similar to PMS, so it’s hard to tell the two apart. No. Waiting two weeks is the hardest!
What was your first meal after giving birth?
For sushi and deli sandwiches! I miss raw tuna + deli meat!
How many children do you want?
I’m hoping that I’ll get lucky 3 or 4 times, but to be honest, it’s only once each lol. I think it depends on the progress of this pregnancy!
Did you inject during pregnancy?
I didn’t and I don’t intend to. There are no studies on injectables for pregnant women, so be careful. Many friends have told me that is full, so you really can’t miss it!
When and how did you find out the gender?
J and I *accidentally* found out our gender when we published our genetic test results online. I wanted to make sure the baby was healthy, but I accidentally looked at the gender! It turned out to be such a cute moment between us. Some moments should not be captured in photos or videos. But I surprised my family with a confetti popper!
Did you know it’s going to be a boy
I thought everyone was a girl, including J! I’ve dreamed of a boy several times, but no one believes me!!
Have you had the COVID vaccine?
I had the COVID vaccine prior to conception and completed a booster and flu vaccine at 15 weeks gestation, which was a priority for me as more pregnant women are hospitalized with COVID.
What made you decide it was time to have a baby?
Jordan and I are very Type A’s and love to plan. We had a lot of professional and personal goals that we wanted to achieve before giving birth. If you’re a planner like us, you’ll never feel completely ready for a baby. We’ve always wanted to create a family together, so it felt like it was the right time.
Have you decided on a name yet?
The name has been decided, but I will keep it private for the time being. But you may end up sharing it. A classic name with a modern spelling, the middle name becomes the surname in honor of J’s grandparents.
