The Fantasy Football League is back on TV! But is it any good?my thoughts

Fantasy Football League Sky TV Review Matt Lucas Ellis James

i only heard that fantasy football league They were making a comeback on TV a few weeks ago. I had mixed feelings, but overall I thought:

This is a bad idea. It’s going to be shitty and ruining one of my favorite TV shows growing up from the 90’s to his 00’s.

I was ready to hate it before I saw it.

was on Skymax I saw it last night.

Here are my thoughts on the first episode.

If you’ve never seen or heard of Fantasy Football League, the first thing you’ll want to know is how we got here.

It was a football-based comedy show that first aired on the BBC and later on ITV.hosted by Frank Skinner When David Baddieland how can you forget the “Statto” on the gown.

The studio was supposed to represent the flat the pair lived in, and hosted the show from a couch with a live audience and cameras in front of them.

Celebrity guests entering the home ring the bell and walk through the front door, all of which play in a fantasy football league.

The show also had some regular segments.Something like phoenix in flames, comically recreates famous football moments. A big hello from… the final song to close out the show (on a later series) and, of course, the moment in the world of football where they joke.

A new fantasy football league in the sky

Sky’s new fantasy football league is hosted by Matt Lucas and Ellis James, with Andrew Mensah taking on the role of ‘Statto’.

So what is it like?

I thought it was really good!

I was pleasantly surprised at how good it was. From the beginning, they joked about replacing Skinner/Baddiel on the show. Obviously, I knew that old viewers like me loved the old presenters.

The format is the same and recreated pretty well. There are lots of jokes, including clips of funny football moments and jokes with each other, and some sketches as well.

They said, “It was a big greeting fromJoeAnn Linton(Joelington), Phoenix from the Flames was Darren Bent, with Lee Trundle singing at the end.

Andrew Mensah has a roundup of scores and fantasy football stats for the week, although stats have a lot of stats and play a more comedic role instead of being adorable but the butt of many jokes .

This week’s first celebrity manager guest is Sally Lindsay When Russell Howardboth love soccer.

The show runs for 35 minutes, but I could have watched it for at least another 35 minutes, and it was fun to watch.

Summary: Fantasy Football League is back on TV! But is it any good?

I knew this show wasn’t going to work because I liked the original line-up of presenters, and the fact that it was a ’90s show in the good old days of the ’90s made me think it might not work.

But fantasy football leagues will still work in 2022. It’s a good blend of comedy and football, and I’m planning on watching the next episode next week.

Only one episode, but so far so good.

It’s on if you want to see it SKY Max Thursdays at 10pm.
