I have always personally believed in the power of jewelry. It’s the backbone of my wardrobe. Enhance and transform your look. My favorite clothes will always be well-decorated clothes that transport me to another place and time. This sentiment inspired the design of her first limited edition jewelry and hair accessories collaboration with her designer, Jennifer Her Bear.
I have been a fan of Jennifer’s whimsical creations for nearly six years. I was originally drawn to her collection when purchasing hair accessories for her wedding. When we finally met at her Dior exhibition at her museum in Brooklyn last fall, we were united by a shared love of all things romantic, whimsical, glamorous and elegant. While some people are drawn to it from an inspiration standpoint, Jennifer’s thoughtful craftsmanship and her otherworldly charm have always caught my creative eye.
Two of us had lunch at The Frenchette this past January and found ourselves sharing stories about our favorite trips over the years. From Provence to Portofino to Capri, we remembered our passion for travel and the excitement we shared in dressing up for our summer adventures.
It was this conversation and our mutual love for jewelry that brought the collection to life.I was completely lost when Jennifer suggested we design something together. I have always dreamed of one day designing jewelry. In fact, that’s one of the reasons she moved to New York four years ago, but that’s a story for another time. My exact response to Jennifer was, “No need to twist my arm!”
We started the design process a few months ago in Jennifer’s Brooklyn office. I brought several sketches to inspire each design and used filigree and floral elements as a nod to the French and Italian spring gardens and museums I love to explore. did.
This collection was built on the idea that the right pair of earrings, ribbons, or barrettes can completely transform an outfit. You have created a beautiful item. And of course, jewelry is a great travel accessory, so summer is the perfect time to launch!
Jennifer also opened up her archives, especially since there is one piece in particular that brought the two of us together many years ago: Shana.
My favorite part was playing with the design elements and building each piece, adding pearly details especially inspired by the summer beach.
One very sentimental element of the collection is the rosebud. The design is inspired by an antique ring her grandmother gave me many years ago. It’s so special to be able to bring this into the design and share it with all of you.
Jennifer and I can’t wait to share more with you! Simply romantic and reminiscent of our favorite travel destinations, this 8-piece collection will be your summer word wherever you go. Complements your robe perfectly.
