Inside the first NYFW show of Who and Who with Elizabeth Hilfiger and Bella Hadid
From the very beginning of planning the label Foo and Foo’s first runway show, Elizabeth Hilfiger knew she had to do something big. She started on location. And it’s certainly not a place that show-goers will soon forget. The Los Angeles-based designer acquired a sprawling master kitchen supply store in New York City’s Lower East Side and sent models down an aisle lined with industrial cookware and pots and pans. So I wanted something utilitarian.” Hilfiger talks about her logo-heavy workwear this season, which features technical fabrics typically worn by Olympians and construction workers to shed heat. (“I hate being hot—I just become a raging bitch,” the designer quips about what inspired the collaboration.) Attendees included Daphne Guinness and Tommy That included Hilfiger (who, you guessed it, happens to be her father). Jordan Barrett and Stella Maxwell also appeared, but the most notable model was Bella Hadid, who wore a head-to-toe hood. She showed up at the venue dressed in a hood and took a sneak peek at the collection.
A model waiting to be dressed after HMU. They’re my friends, all skaters, so they said, ‘birds of a feather stick together,’ and they were laughing. Tenjin raised his legs and looked like a little bird.
Aaron changes at Ash’s store. She loved that tie and she really wanted to wear it. It made her look so much better. She liked to let the models choose the clothes to wear with them.
I made a gift for every model who said, “I went to the Foo and Foo show and all I got was this damned outfit.” I picked a number of pieces in LA and Anton and sewed these labels on in random places.
I captured this moment when I was getting BTS before the show. I love Donta, we had so much fun and he was the vibe master. This is him dancing in the street.
Simona in the lineup is hilarious as usual. I forgot what was going on, but this is one of many pictures of her looking cute with little bunny ears.
I tried all Simihaze products in my makeup test. I couldn’t wait to have Tracy do my makeup. Here I am trying to take a selfie while wearing the Sun Flush. It’s my favorite shade and it makes me look like I’ve had a successful day tanning at the beach.
Bella after the show. She’s so excited that she’s done it. We pulled this look from the show and sent it to her that morning. All blue is actually my favorite look. She only had one bad day wearing all blue.
Georgia May and my boyfriend with their dog after the show in my favorite looks.
Me and the skater boy after the show. I’m so glad they were all there for the Big Ash pop-up.
Quen and Aaron vibes. We all had a celebratory post-show drink with a pop-up at Big Ash.
Me and the Foo team. Without these people this would not have been possible. We are very happy with what we pulled off. And we are all so tired.
After a short nap, we had dinner at The Standard Grill. It was nice to be able to maintain the atmosphere and continue to celebrate.
Georgia May looking like an angel at the afterparty. She is a great friend and has been very supportive since I first launched the brand.
Brett and Fernando look chic at the afterparty, taking a break from the dance floor.
