A few weeks ago I had the opportunity to celebrate sweet Duke’s first birthday party. A 1st birthday party is a milestone to celebrate the first year with a miracle baby. If you’re new here, you can read about the long IVF journey to get to both Otis and Duke, so this first birthday is just another one to celebrate. The thing is, it was the kids’ first birthday party in their new home surrounded by family. became.
Because we always refer to Duke as “Mr.” Smiles’ I knew right away the theme for his birthday party: Smiley Face Theme. Sweet as he is! Smiley face accessories are easy to come by. You know how much we love our home’s balloon arch. Blake is now basically a balloon arch expert. I think he might actually enjoy it!!
We ordered the BBQ and made a cheese and veggie board to eat. Originally I was going to make a cake, but I didn’t have time so I decided to order one from a local bakery. Luckily, Duke loves blueberries, so she spoke with the sweetest lady who mixed blueberries in vanilla batter.
Duke ate his whole smash cake. He loves to eat so much, I don’t think I’ve ever seen a baby eat a smash cake like Duke. I love his pure joy.First birthday parties are meant for parents, but I know for a fact that Duke had a lot of fun.We love you endlessly. increase. See all sources below for parties.
